Our Community Morning Tea was a great success, with a wonderful mix of familiar faces and new community members coming along to connect and catch up. The Hall was full of friendly conversation and a strong sense of community.

A big thank you to Wendy and Elaine for their huge effort preparing and serving a delicious spread of cakes, scones, and sandwiches. The food was so popular that people even asked to buy the leftovers, which Wendy generously gave away for free.

Special thanks to Liz Stewart, who spoke with attendees about volunteering opportunities. Thanks to her enthusiasm and experience, we now have two new volunteer registrations, with others keen to learn more about roles such as kitchen helpers and “dish ninjas.”

Support the volunteers who help bring our community events and activities to life.

The River Heads Progress Association (RHPA) is a friendly, community-led group that manages the Hall and runs events and projects that connect our community.

We’re seeking a warm, organised, people-focused Volunteer Coordinator to welcome volunteers, keep things running smoothly, and ensure everyone feels supported and appreciated.

🌟 What You’ll Do

  • Welcome new volunteers and help match them to suitable roles

  • Maintain a simple volunteer register (contact details, roles, availability)

  • Coordinate volunteer rosters for events, hall activities, BBQs, and projects

  • Support and connect volunteers with team leaders (kitchen, events, bar, garden, etc.)

  • Help identify volunteer needs and gaps

  • Assist with small appreciation activities and clear information sharing

💚 About You

  • Friendly, approachable, and community-minded

  • Organised, reliable, and good at follow-through

🛠️ Helpful (Not Essential)

  • Basic admin or coordination experience

  • Comfortable with email, Messenger, or simple spreadsheets

⏱️ Time Commitment

  • Around 2–4 hours per week, flexible, with some tasks done from home

- Greek beef wraps recipe with spiced mince and feta sauce included.
